With this API you can get the status of 1 service at a time in a few formats. The API understands 2 parameters at the moment:

id: The ID of the service.
format: The format of the output.

The output can be returned in the following formats:

xml: Output in XML (default).
json: Output in JSON.
plain: Output in plain text (with meta-information).
plainSimple: Output in plain text (without meta-information).

The following link will return the status of SGE in XML for example:
